SUBMISSIONS AND FAQs

What to submit:

Dedicated to the history and philosophy of science and technology, Spontaneous Generations periodically publishes papers in special issues. The topics of these issues span a wide breadth of subject matter within the general study of science and technology as social objects. Book reviews, original research articles, discussion papers, and opinion pieces are generally accepted. Papers up to 8000 words excluding citations are ideal, however we will consider submitted work as short as 2000 words depending on the style of the piece.

Before You Submit:

Prior to sending your work to Spontaneous Generations, please ensure that your paper is formatted in accordance with the APA Style Guide, and check that all text is in 12-point Times New Roman font. Prospective authors may also refer to our author contract for details concerning who must be listed as an author and what must be cited.

Making a submission:

Spontaneous Generations is not currently accepting articles. Calls for papers within the scope of an upcoming special issue are usually sent out in the fall or spring. If you would like to be updated when a call for papers is issued, please enter your information here.
